Caden Veltkamp, Pro-Style QB

If the Longhorns really wanted to dig deep to find their next quarterback prospect to target for their 2022 class, they should look no further than with the underrated three-star South Warren (KY) pro-style quarterback Caden Veltkamp. This sizable 6-foot-6 and 215 pound signal caller has his stock on the rise thanks to a big arm he’s showed off of late just like Torres.

The Bowling Green-area native Veltkamp holds a similar composite prospect ranking to what Wright did in the Longhorns 2021 class. So having him as a backup to Murphy in the 2022 class could be a good move to get ahead of the game for Sark and his staff.

Veltkamp was also a stud showcasing his talents at the Elite 11 Regional in Nashville, TN, last weekend. After his showing at the Elite 11 Regional over the weekend, Veltkamp should continue to see his stock rise in the near future. And with that will likely come more offers rolling his way heading into official visit season.

As of the early afternoon of May 18, there are only six schools that have sent Veltkamp a scholarship offer. Those schools include the Akron Zips, Appalachian State Mountaineers, Kentucky, Miami (OH) Redhawks, Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, and FCS Indiana State.

It also looks like an offer from the Indiana Hoosiers could be coming Veltkamp’s way in the near future.

Texas could add another big and potent arm to their 2022 class if they were to pursue Veltkamp.

Moreover, Veltkamp ranks as the nation’s No. 823 2022 high school prospect, No. 41 pro-style quarterback, and No. 10 prospect out of Kentucky (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 40 pro-style quarterback and No. 12 prospect out of Kentucky.
