MJ Morris, Dual-Threat QB

Of all the quarterbacks on this list, the most highly touted is the 6-foot-2 and 190 pound Pace Academy dual-threat MJ Morris. This Atlanta, GA, native is one of the top remaining uncommitted quarterback prospects among both pro-style and dual-threats in the entire country for the 2022 cycle.

It’s clear to see why Sark and the Longhorns would want to send a scholarship offer Morris’ way, given his raw talent level. And the fact that nearly three-dozen schools have already offered Morris is another good reason for the Longhorns to buy into what he brings to the table.

Much like Veltkamp, Morris got to see a rise in his stock thanks to a solid weekend at the Elite 11 Regional in Nashville last weekend. Morris did have a few issues with his throwing mechanics and footwork from what we saw at the Elite 11 Regional in Nashville, but most of his strengths come with his accuracy on short and intermediate routes, and how he can make plays with his legs.

Texas would be getting a vastly different frame and skill set if they landed a commitment from Morris than they have in Murphy. But that could be nice to have as Sark continues to figure out how to implement his scheme with the Longhorns.

There are currently 34 schools on Morris’ lengthy offer sheet. Some of the more notable schools on his offer sheet are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, NC State Wolfpack, Nebraska, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, LSU, Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal, Texas A&M, and Tennessee Volunteers.

Moreover, morris ranks as the nation’s No. 207 2022 high school prospect, No. 6 dual-threat quarterback, and No. 20 prospect out of Georgia (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback and No. 35 prospect out of Georgia.
