The hot topic of discussion at this point of the offseason for new head coach Steve Sarkisian and this program is what will happen for the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes when official visits start back up next month. Official visit season is set to begin again around the college football recruiting landscape for the first time in roughly 15 months on June 1.

Like many other blue bloods around the college football landscape, the Longhorns have a host of critical official visits for their 2022 and 2023 classes lined up next month. Official visit season will be much more crucial than any other offseason too since many prospects haven’t taken one yet during the process of their recruitment.

The wake of the COVID-19 pandemic likely altered a lot of the recruiting process for good, including the importance of official visit season in 2021.

Where Steve Sarkisian and Texas football need to turn the corner ahead of official visit season?

The specific focus of this piece will be on the various 2022 visiting prospects that are key targets of the Longhorns for next month. Texas is in a good spot with most of the more than two dozen recruiting targets that are currently scheduled to have official visits in June.

But there are some that Texas needs to turn the corner with and fast if they want a chance to land their commitment when it’s all said and done. And with how quick a lot of these prospects could make their commitments this summer once they get their initial set of official visits over with, Sark and the Longhorns will need to strike fast.

Here’s a look into three key prospects of the Longhorns 2022 class that are trending away from the program ahead of visit season.
