Xavier Worthy, WR

One player that has yet to officially join the Longhorns, that should be on campus later this summer, is the former Michigan Wolverines four-star wide receiver commit and Central East product Xavier Worthy. The California native 6-foot-1 and 160 pound wideout was a blue-chip talent that has speed that jumps off the screen immediately at you.

Sure to be a deep threat for Sark and the Longhorns once he gets regular snaps in this receiving corps in the fall, Worthy is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. During his 2019 campaign with Central East, he averaged more than 18.5 yards per catch on nearly 1,000 receiving yards on the season.

Worthy is one wide receiver that actually has track-level speed because he was a stud running in track and field in high school. He was a standout for the Central East High School Track Team, namely running in the 100 meter and 200 meter. He also ran in some of the 400 meter events during his time in high school.

The reported personal best time for Worthy in the 100 meter is close to 10.5 seconds, which is lightning fast. When he ran in the California state finals in 2019, he finished in the top 10 in the 100 meter, and was the only sophomore in competition.

It won’t be long until Texas sees the type of speed that Worthy can bring to the table. And I’m sure that a lot of Longhorns fans are already well-versed in his film in watching his highlights since he flipped his commitment from Michigan to Texas last month.
