It’s hard to know what direction new Texas basketball head coach Chris Beard and this program will turn to in terms of constructing the roster throughout the rest of the offseason. Texas already landed four additions to the program by way of the NCAA Transfer Portal, and the 2021 recruiting cycle is effectively in the books.

Texas hired the former Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Beard back on April 1 to replace the departed Shaka Smart. And he’s done pretty well constructing this roster together so far. But there’s still a ways to go on the Forty Acres entering the summer months.

Entering the final week of the month of May, we can now take a look at how the latter days of Beard and the Longhorns hitting the transfer portal could shake out. There’s not much time left for the Longhorns to have a plethora of talent available in the transfer portal to pursue throughout the rest of the offseason.

Texas could have more additions to the backcourt rotation on the way that can specifically help out at the one. They did lose former senior versatile standout guard Matt Coleman to the NBA Draft earlier in the offseason, so filling depth needs here could be key moving forward.
