The offseason presents an opportunity for this Texas football program to grow leaps and bounds as it gets used to the newfound culture under the direction of first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian. Texas was able to hire the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator/reigning Broyles Award winner Sark to replace former head coach Tom Herman back on Jan. 2.

Two years filled with volatility on the field, and also largely on the recruiting trail, for Herman and the Longhorns led to the change in coaching regime at the very outset of this offseason.

Since that point, Texas has put together a formidable roster full of talent on both sides of the ball ready to compete for a Big 12 Title, and a coaching staff hoping to guide them there. Texas is also awaiting the rest of their 2021 signing class to make their way to the Forty Acres ahead of the start of summer workouts.

Among those summer enrollees are a few additions to the program from the NCAA Transfer Portal, and the rest of the 2021 recruiting class that didn’t enroll early for spring ball. Texas is set to see a little less than half of the high school prospect that signed in the 2021 class enroll for the summer semester and get on campus for workouts.

There’s a lot of excitement brewing for this program ahead of the start of summer workouts and fall camp. What lies ahead for the Longhorns will be largely determined by how this roster is pieced together throughout the rest of the offseason.

With the set of summer enrollees for the Longhorns set to arrive on campus within the week, here’s a look at who of that group can make an immediate impact entering workouts.
