Texas Football: 3 key recruits Sark could flip during official visits
Starting in roughly 10 days, there will be key targets of the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes visiting Austin. Official visit season will start up again after a very long hiatus in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. But Texas will have key targets of their upcoming recruiting classes back on campus for the first time in roughly 15 months for official visits.
New head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns had a plethora of key prospects in their sights since the new staff took over back on Jan. 2. Sark replaced former head coach Tom Herman for Texas back in early January and has provided a spark on the recruiting trail for this program since.
A slight lag in the number of commits the Longhorns landed in their 2022 and 2023 class in the last couple of months shouldn’t last long with official visit season beginning next week. Texas has a lot on the line for official visits, which have the first set of visiting prospects coming to the Forty Acres on June 4.
Steve Sarkisian able to get some flips for Texas football recruiting in OV’s?
And the final weekend of visits next month is set to come on June 24. Texas needs to make the most of this opportunity, and one key thing to note is that a few of the visiting prospects for their 2022 and 2023 classes are committed to other schools at the moment.
This will be a rare opportunity for Sark and the Longhorns to get the foot in the door with these key prospects that are committed elsewhere at the moment. But it’s one that this coaching staff is likely to seize upon.
Here’s a look into three key recruits that Sark could try and flip with official visits looming next month.
