Less of a hidden gem, but still a potentially valuable transfer portal target, for the Longhorns at the two-guard is the former Georgia Bulldogs standout two-way senior Andrew Garcia. This is now the second time in Garcia’s college career to date that his name showed up in the transfer portal. And his next landing spot is likely his last in college.

Garcia came off the bench as was solid for the Dawgs as their sixth man in 26 games played last season. His previous three seasons were played with Stony Brook, where he was a regular starter during the 2019-20 campaign that was shortened in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

And in those 26 games played last season (none of which he started in), Garcia averaged 8.7 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.3 blocks. And he shot 54.1 percent from the field, 16.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.1 percent from the free-throw line.

There’s not much of an outside shooting game that Garcia brings to the table. But he is one of the better perimeter defenders and more versatile creators from within 10-feet of the rim available in the portal at this moment in time.

Garcia was a true contender for the SEC Sixth Man of the Year honors with the Dawgs last season. He is also a two-time All-America East Conference honoree and a one-time America East Sixth Man of the Year award recipient.
