Texas Football: 4 vastly underrated visitors that’re key to watch in June
Isaiah Bond, ATH
One potential flip that should be in the sights of Sark and his coaching staff entering visit season is the Florida Gators commit and ultra-slept on three-star Buford athlete/wide receiver Isaiah Bond. I’ve discussed before how big it could be for Sark and the Longhorns if they managed to flip the commitment of Bond this summer.
Although, it hasn’t been more than a couple of weeks since Bond announced his pledge to head coach Dan Mullen and the Gators in the first place. It was back on May 9 that Florida landed Bond over the likes of Texas, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and Miami Hurricanes, among other suitors.
Since Texas, Alabama, and Miami, all have official visits on the books with Bond prior to his commitment to Florida, he’s still taking them as scheduled. He is set to visit with the Longhorns on June 25. Texas is the final of his four visits next month. The others he has are June 4 (Florida), June 11 (Miami), and June 18 (Alabama).
Texas should still be going all out for this skill position weapon, that also possesses the ability to make an impact on the defensive side of the ball. The 6-foot and 175 pound Georgia native could realistically fit in as a cornerback or wide receiver at the college level.
Moreover, Bond ranks as the nation’s No. 559 2022 high school prospect, No. 48 athlete, and No. 57 prospect out of Georgia (247Sports Composite). But the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 237 high school prospect, No. 14 athlete, and No. 23 prospect out of Georgia.
