Trevell Johnson, LB

Even though he is currently the lowest-rated commit in the Longhorns 2022 class, fans on the Forty Acres shouldn’t sleep on the value that the under-the-radar three-star Arlington-Martin linebacker Trevell Johnson brings to the table. Texas had an impressive team of recruiters after Johnson which showed what he meant to this staff.

It still looks like the two coaches on the Texas staff keeping in the closest contact with the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area native Johnson are new special teams coordinator Jeff Banks and co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Jeff Choate. The other Longhorn’s new co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Pete Kwiatkowski also should be prioritizing staying in close contact with Johnson.

The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound linebacker committed to the Longhorns 2022 class back on Feb. 13. That made him one of the commits in the Longhorns 2022 class that came along while Sark was finding a big spark on the recruiting trail in the couple of months after he was hired to be the next Texas head coach.

Moreover, the main reason why it is important for the Longhorns to get the official visit scheduled for Johnson right next month is how busy he will be during that time. Texas is one of three official visits currently on the books for Johnson in June. He is set to visit Texas on June 18, and then with the Oklahoma State Cowboys on June 1, and Texas Tech on June 4.
