One talking point that came about of late for Sark and the Longhorns is Alabama’s recent offer that was sent out to the talented four-star Texas commit and Aledo safety Bryan Allen Jr. The 6-foot and 185 pound Texas native Allen Jr. gave his commitment to the Longhorns back on Feb. 28. He is the highest-rated defensive back commit in the Longhorns 2022 class at this moment.

According to a report from 247Sports on May 29 (paid content), Allen Jr. is set to visit with legendary head coach Nick Saban, the former Texas cornerbacks coach Valai, and the Crimson Tide next week. That’s not great news for Texas considering they have a former positional coach and the reigning National Champions pursuing their highest-rated DB commit heading into the summer months.

In fact, Alabama was the lone school to offer Allen Jr. since he committed to Texas back in late February. It looks like the Crimson Tide will also be the only team that Allen Jr. visits with during OV season next month. That could change in the near future, though.

Sark and the Longhorns will have to continue to put their best foot forward in the pursuit of keeping Allen Jr.’s commitment in their 2022 class. Any battle on the recruiting trail with the Crimson Tide is usually not a welcome sight.

Allen Jr. is set to have his official visit with the Longhorns on June 18. Getting the last official visit, at least as it stands now, with Allen Jr. could be what the Longhorns need to keep his commitment around in their 2022 class when it’s all said and done. Texas currently has special teams coordinator Banks and safeties coach Gideon after Allen Jr. as his primary recruiters.
