Elorm Lumor, DE/Edge Rusher

If the Longhorns were looking for one more impact pass rusher to get out of the transfer portal at this point of the offseason, then look no further than a hidden gem in the former Rutgers Scarlet Knights senior edge rusher and three-star recruit Elorm Lumor. Putting his name in the transfer portal for the first time in his career, Lumor could round out his college days in a spot where he could get more national attention.

Lumor actually used to play at Rutgers under their prior head coach to Greg Schiano and former Texas defensive coordinator/safeties coach Chris Ash. He got to play in a couple of seasons under Schiano, and is now looking to take his talents elsewhere after four productive years in Piscataway, NJ.

Texas did add a few players out of the portal this offseason that could make an impact on the pass rush. That includes Oghoufo and Davis more so than the other transfer portal additions. Texas is also looking to revitalize their pass rush in the post-Joseph Ossai-era on the Forty Acres with other brewing talents such as Moro Ojomo, Prince Dorbah, Vernon Broughton, Alfred Collins, etc.

But Lumor could add some depth at the third spot along the defensive line (as a true 3-4 defensive end) using what he proved during his days at Rutgers. He’s definitely got the physical frame to play at that defensive end spot, at 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds.

Moreover, Lumor registered 104 career combined tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble, during his time at Rutgers. He also racked up nearly 60 career quarterback pressures and had 38 stops.
