Texas Football: 3 key prospects to watch in first visit weekend
In what is set to be a rather small visit weekend for prospects of the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes, it is still important for the coaching staff to make the right impression. There looks to be five visitors lined up for new head coach Steve Sarkisian to come to Texas as of the morning of June 1. But that could change as the week moves along.
Sark and the Longhorns will host a few dozen targets of their 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes in a critical month of June on the trail. That all starts on June 3, with the first official visit set to come to the Forty Acres since March 2020, during the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This will likely be a major adjustment for the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator/reigning Broyles Award winner Sark and his new-look coaching staff to have visitors back on campus. But this is a necessary adjustment ahead of the official visit weekends later in the month that will have more prospects on campus.
Critical prospects to watch for Texas football recruiting in the first visit weekend
Each weekend will be crucial for the Longhorns to get their momentum back up and going on the recruiting trail again heading into the summer months. Texas got a big spark on the recruiting trail in the months of February and March following the hire of Sark as the next head coach.
A big visit weekend for the Longhorns will be supplemented by the start of summer workouts this month. It is a busy time on the Forty Acres during the summer months, and it is exciting to see this type of movement on the recruiting trail with visits happening once again.
Here’s a look into three key prospects to watch from June 3-6 with the first visit weekend looming large.
