TreVonte’ Citizen, RB

If Sark and running backs coach Stan Drayton still intend to add a second commit at the position in their 2022 class, then this last name on the list is one they need to make up some ground with this coming weekend. Texas offered the talented four-star Lake Charles College Prep 6-foot and 215 pound running back TreVonte’ Citizen back on Jan. 29, 2021.

And the Longhorns were one of the schools in the middle of the pack on Citizen’s offer sheet. The Louisiana native has some real traction with LSU right now. Texas is one of a whopping five schools that he’s got visits scheduled with for this month. One is set to come with head coach Ed Orgeron, running backs coach Kevin Faulk, and LSU as an unofficial visit on June 1.

Maybe it is good timing that Drayton, Sark, and the Longhorns get the first official visit with Citizen this offseason. He’s set to visit Texas on June 4. But Texas has some ground to make up to catch up with LSU as it appears now. Knowing what the result of that unofficial visit with LSU will be could be key in his recruitment moving forward.

The other three official visits that Citizen has on the books for this month come with Texas A&M (June 11), USC (June 17), and the Arkansas Razorbacks (June 25).

Texas could still be in the running to get the commitment of Citizen when it’s all said and done, as he could be the second in the 2022 class at the position along with four-star Klein Cain product Jaydon Blue.
