A massive addition for Texas football and new head coach Steve Sarkisian arrived out of the NCAA Transfer Portal over the weekend in the form of the former Alabama Crimson Tide sophomore running back Keilan Robinson. The commitment of the 5-foot-10 and 190 pound former blue-chip recruit is the first for Sark and running backs coach Stan Drayton at this position group out of the transfer portal so far this offseason .

But former head coach Tom Herman and the Longhorns did get one addition at running back out of the transfer portal last offseason in the form of the senior FCS grad transfer Gabriel Watson.

The latest Longhorns transfer addition joins an increasingly deep running back room that also features sophomore star Bijan Robinson, junior Roschon Johnson, senior Daniel Young, incoming freshman Jonathon Brooks, and Watson, among others. Texas has turned running back into a serious position of strength this year.

Texas football getting deeper after adding RB Keilan Robinson

Texas got the commitment of Keilan on June 6, and they now have more than five additions to the team out of the portal already in 2021. Sark has even added two players out of the portal among former Crimson Tide blue-chip recruits. Keilan and former five-star recruit/senior linebacker Ben Davis are the Longhorns two transfer pickups this offseason among former Crimson Tide players.

With the transfer portal activity picking up a bit for Sark and the Longhorns in the past 10 days, could there be another addition looming in the near future?

Here’s a look into a few options for who Texas’ next transfer portal addition could be this offseason, after landing Robinson.
