Big-time targets of the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes are set to make their way to campus for the second weekend in a row in a critical month of June. But it all started out much slower for new Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian than it will be this coming weekend. Texas is set to have one of the biggest weekend visitor lists that they will all year long.

In fact, some of the roots that the Longhorns plant down now will have an impact on the foundations of the 2022 and 2023 classes over the course of the next 12-18 months. Texas has to get this weekend right, or else it could have a drastic effect on the 2022 and 2023 classes from here on out.

The writing is on the wall that the next couple of weeks could be extremely critical to what happens throughout the rest of the summer months on the recruiting trail. But it is also still important for the Longhorns to get some early results in the 2021 campaign too.

Texas lost nearly all of their 2022 class at the time last fall when it seemed like the sky was falling after a disappointing 2-2 start to the season. That’s where Sark needs to find a good amount of stability on the field and on the recruiting trail from the outset. But of course that’s easier said than done for any head coach, especially in his first year with a program that comes with such lofty expectations.

The good news is that Sark did a good job on the recruiting trail thus far to find success for the 2022 and 2023 classes. But we’ll see what happens with this critical set of weekend visitors. Here’s a look into four of the massive visitors coming to Texas this weekend.
