Texas Football: 4 massive visitors to watch in second weekend of OV’s
Cole Hutson, OL
The recruitment of the four-star Frisco High School (TX) offensive lineman Cole Hutson has really started to heat back up in the past couple of weeks. Hutson was a hot name for the 2022 recruiting cycle out of the gates, but nothing compared to the hype he could be getting as official visit season starts to hit a climax.
And there might not be a single more consequential visit weekend that the Longhorns have than the one with all of these key 2022 and 2023 prospects on campus.
Yet, the 2023 class is really coming to the forefront for Texas this weekend. That leaves the key 2022 targets like Hutson largely falling in the shadows this weekend. But it might not be too long before the Longhorns start to figure out the decisions of a lot of top targets of their 2022 class start to drop.
Hutson is one of the official visitors on campus this weekend, and it’s key for the Texas coaching staff to hit on this connection with a critical target in the trenches. Texas gets the first official visit of three critical ones for Hutson this month. He’s set to visit the rival Oklahoma Sooners the following weekend. And then he’s on the books to have an official visit with the in-state rival Texas A&M Aggies on June 24.
Since Texas has yet to land a single blue-chip offensive linemen in their 2022 class, getting Hutson on board is huge. He ranks as the nation’s No. 330 2022 high school prospect, No. 13 interior offensive lineman, and No. 48 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 13 interior offensive lineman and No. 58 prospect out of Texas.
