Texas Football: 4 massive visitors to watch in second weekend of OV’s
Anthony Hill, DE/Edge Rusher
The next big time five-star prospect coming out of Denton-Ryan High School is set to be the elite five-star defensive end/edge rusher and the 6-foot-2 and 225-pound Anthony Hill. Texas is set to have one of its biggest unofficial visitors on the defensive side of the ball this weekend in the form of the in-state product Hill.
Texas got a truly elite prospect coming out of Denton-Ryan in their 2021 signing class in the form of five-star athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders. And they almost got two, if former head coach Tom Herman was able to hang onto the commitment of the four-star athlete and former Sanders’ teammate at Denton-Ryan Billy Bowman Jr. But eventually Bowman Jr. would flip his commitment to Oklahoma.
Hill is one of the early top targets of the Longhorns 2023 class, and getting the right impression with him on this unofficial visit is big for his recruitment moving forward. Texas is one of the 30 schools already on Hill’s lengthy offer sheet.
Some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet include the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M, and the USC Trojans.
Texas is one of the schools that appears to be at the forefront of Hill’s recruitment at the moment. And it is big to get on the right footing with the nation’s No. 8 2023 high school prospect, and the top overall edge rusher and prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).
