Sebastian Cheeks, LB

As was true for a lot of high school prospects within the past 12-15 months, four-star Evanston Township (IL) linebacker Sebastian Cheeks faced a very delayed 2020-21 high school football season. Cheeks faced a busy spring and early summer to try and get his stock trending up while finishing out his junior campaign on a high note.

Now, it’s time for Cheeks to take maybe the most important set of visits over the course of his recruitment thus far. And he has a few critical official visits set for the month of June. Cheeks already visited the North Carolina Tar Heels and former Texas head coach Mack Brown last weekend. Then, he’s set to be on campus with Texas this weekend.

Maybe the final big official visit for Texas fans to watch concerning the pursuit of Cheeks comes with head coach Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on June 18. Watch out for more official and unofficial visits to get put on the books for Cheeks in the coming months. Other schools to still watch in pursuit of his commitment could still be the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan.

Next. Big time prospects Texas could land over OU. dark

Texas does have a pretty solid group brewing in the front seven. And adding a commitment from Cheeks could help this group explode entering the thick of the summer months. He ranks as the nation’s No. 127 2022 high school prospect, No. 13 linebacker, and No. 4 prospect out of Illinois (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 153 high school prospect, No. 18 linebacker, and No. 4 prospect out of Illinois.
