Yet another under-the-radar athlete that seems to be firmly on the radar of Sark and the Longhorns 2022 class at this point of his recruitment is the three-star Liberty (NV) 6-foot-5 and 245-pound athlete Anthony Jones. This product hailing out of Las Vegas, NV, is also firmly on the radar of a number of other PAC-12 schools.

But there are connections that Sark and his new-look coaching staff have back to that region of the country, so it could be key to watch if a new recruiting pipeline is established in some of these parts of the US.

Moreover, there are currently only 10 schools on the shorter than expected offer sheet of Jones. And it looks like there are only about four or five that have a legitimate shot to get his commitment at this point.

Some of the schools to watch in pursuit of Jones, outside of Texas, are the Washington Huskies, Miami Hurricanes, USC Trojans, and Oregon Ducks. But it appears that the Huskies have lost a lot of momentum in pursuit of Jones since former UW defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski left for Texas earlier in the offseason.

Sark had an ace up his sleeve in pursuit of Jones in the form of putting the new Texas co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Kwiatkowski as his primary recruiter. Texas seemed to gain some traction in his recruitment since then. And by all accounts, Texas had a good visit hosting Jones last weekend. This recruitment could continue to see Texas gain momentum in the coming weeks.
