A big weekend for targets of the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes, and this program itself on the trail, got off to a rather quiet start after visit news dropped on June 11. Texas wound up not getting a visit from the five-star Summer Creek offensive lineman Kelvin Banks (as once potentially anticipated) this weekend, and five-star Cy Park linebacker Harold Perkins did push back a visit with the USC Trojans for an official visit in Austin.

The theme of the big news surrounding the second weekend of visits on the Forty Acres continued on June 12 with more shifting and confirmation of schedules. Following the news of Banks and Perkins altering their visit schedules this month, the former Texas commit and five-star Frisco-Liberty wide receiver Evan Stewart confirmed his official visit to Austin for next weekend.

The confirmation of an official visit next weekend for Stewart came courtesy of a piece from Horns247 on June 12 (paid content). Stewart was expected to visit Texas this month, the exact date he was going to do so was just called in question. But now he has the open weekend on June 18-19 filled out with a trip to Austin.

Up to June 12, the lone official visit that Stewart had this month came with head coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators, specifically back on June 4. He also has official visits scheduled with the Texas A&M Aggies (June 14) and USC Trojans (June 25).

The visits with Florida and Texas A&M will be the only ones that Stewart has taken prior to his with new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns next weekend. We will continue to follow this looming storyline as Stewart continues to get his visit schedule in line for the summer.

Stewart looks to largely have his recruitment boiling down to the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, and USC, at this point of the offseason. But Texas looks to be able to get an edge back in the recruitment of Stewart by getting the official visit right with him next weekend.
