Texas Football: 3 5-Star prospects Sark is trending up with during OV’s
After what was arguably the biggest weekend of official visitors at least for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class, new head coach Steve Sarkisian will have to let patience win the day for the rest of the summer months. There is still one more big visit weekend for Texas before the dead period returns in early July.
Yet, it’s hard to argue that the most impactful and consequential weekend during visit season this month for Sark and the Longhorns came this past weekend. Texas had numerous big-time blue-chip targets of their 2022 class on the Forty Acres, making it a point of emphasis to get some of these names in the mix ahead of the start of the 2021 regular season.
Texas football recruiting can rebound from a volatile stretch soon?
Texas is likely to see a lot of its top four and five-star targets of the 2022 class making their decisions before the regular season begins. That’s a lot of what made this past weekend of visits so important for this coaching staff. But what is to come for Sark and the Longhorns with their top targets of the 2022 class for the remainder of the offseason?
We’ll figure out a lot in the three or four weeks that follow the conclusion of this critical month of visits. Even the prospects that don’t announce their decisions in July could start trending in favor of certain schools they wouldn’t have beforehand.
It would be nice to see the Longhorns find some stability on the recruiting trail too following the loss of two five-star commits in the 2022 and 2023 classes in the past four months. The latest of those arrived last week, with five-star El Campo running back Rueben Owens decommitting.
With that in mind, here’s a look into three five-star prospects that Sark and the Longhorns are trending up with following the third big weekend this month of visits.
