Arkansas

An intriguing landing spot often for a number of former Longhorns transfers is presented in the SEC West with the Arkansas Razorbacks. And landing with Arkansas would give Smith a chance to prove what he can do against Texas right away. Arkansas-Texas is one of the premier non-conference matchups around the Big 12 this fall.

While that doesn’t sound great to Texas fans, Arkansas certainly does make sense as a landing spot for Smith. Statistically, he might not get much of a spark right away in Fayetteville. But he could get a lot more looks in the passing game right away with the Hogs than he did for the most part in the past two years with the Longhorns.

Arkansas has a more experienced and proven receiving corps for the most part compared to Tennessee, but there’s still a lot left to be answered for head coach Sam Pittman. Juniors like Trey Knox and De’Vion Warren are some of the names to watch to win starting roles with Arkansas this fall. But neither has as much production coming back this year compared to Smith.

Fayetteville would present Smith with a new opportunity to become a true primary wide receiver in a bright spotlight with a Power Five program. He could have less competition to win a starting role right away, while still getting an NFL spotlight to have the ability to take his talents to the next level at some point.

Arkansas was also one of the multiple programs that prioritized the recruitment of Smith out of high school and sent him a scholarship offer.
