Recruitment of Keithron Lee for Texas football
Lee is a Bryan, TX, native and committed and signed with the Longhorns as part of the 2021 class. He committed to Texas just after the Early Signing Period, back on Dec. 25, 2020. He later signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Longhorns on Feb. 3, 2021 (National Signing Day).
The original commitment of Lee went to the UTSA Roadrunners back in April 2020. But once he decommitted from UTSA on Sep. 15, 2020, his recruitment started to heat back up. He wound up receiving just shy of 30 offers when it was all said and done.
At the time of Lee’s commitment to Texas, now former head coach Tom Herman would only be with the program for a few more days. But new head coach Steve Sarkisian was able to keep his commitment around through the change in coaching regimes and sign him in February.
Coming out of Rudder, Lee ranked as the nation’s No. 515 2021 high school prospect, No. 77 wide receiver, and No. 78 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the No. 96 wide receiver and No. 98 prospect out of Texas.
This is an ongoing story that we will follow as it unfolds in the coming days and weeks. Texas is currently in the midst of summer workouts and will kickoff the 2021 regular season at home on Sep. 4 against Louisiana.
