Texas Basketball: 3 players with NBA potential for Chris Beard
The newly formed roster for the Texas basketball program under new head coach Chris Beard has a ton of potential heading into next season. Texas had a busy offseason thus far since the former Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Beard took over in the same role with this program.
Beard and the Longhorns were very busy in the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason trying to find the right way to build out the rotation. Texas landed multiple additions to the rotation out of the transfer portal so far this offseason. Beard didn’t waste any time to build out the rotation he wanted in Austin in the post-Shaka Smart era.
With the rotation mostly rounded out at this point of the offseason, the Longhorns can now start to finally focus on building out the top unit and schemes for this group. Texas might even have a better roster on hand than they did last season. And that was a team capable of making a Final Four run that also won the Big 12 Tournament crown.

Texas men’s hoops already has a roster assembled that could be the most well-rounded in the Big 12. And this is also a rotation capable of garnering the Longhorns a top 10 preseason ranking.
There are plenty of reasons why there should be optimism surrounding this program in the midst of the summer months. Here’s a look at three Longhorns players that have NBA potential with Beard at the helm.
