Another big-time weekend announcement that is set to come from a notable target of the Longhorns 2022 class is the potent and skilled four-star Deer Creek (OK) offensive tackle Jacob Sexton. The 6-foot-5 and 285-pound Oklahoma native Sexton was on the Longhorns radar for a good while now.

The decision of Sexton is to be announced on July 3, and it is one that is likely to fall to one of the Oklahoma schools. Sexton is very likely to land with Oklahoma when it’s all said and done, but Oklahoma State could also be in play for him too.

Texas hosted their official visit with Sexton back on June 11. They were one of multiple schools that had a visit on the books with Sexton during his busy month of June. Oklahoma State had him on campus in the same seven-day span. And even the likes of the Texas A&M Aggies and Alabama had key visits with Sexton last month.

The final official visit that Sexton had last month actually came with the Aggies. Texas A&M could still be a school to watch in pursuit of Sexton’s commitment.

Given that the decision date for Sexton dropped so fast following the resumption of the dead period, it is likely that his decision was sealed up out of last weekend.

Maybe Texas can get their first offensive line commit in the 2022 class this week from someone like three-star Duncanville offensive tackle Cameron Williams. That is because it doesn’t look like it will come from Sexton.
