With the passing of the new NIL law from the NCAA, which took effect starting this month, multiple Texas football players have already taken advantage in different ways. And redshirt junior quarterback Casey Thompson, among a few other Texas players, have used the new NIL law for a very good cause this month.
Thompson opened up a Cameo page that uses the proceeds donated from anyone in cash to the organization No Kids Hungry. This organization is one that helps bridge the gaps for hungry children in the United States. According to the No Kid Hungry website, the organization was formed in 2010 after “25 successful years” working with communities in need with the Share Our Strength charitable organization.
Share Our Strength is an organization that was founded a good while back, and has multiple other charities that they run. No Kid Hungry is one of those sub-organizations that is part of Share Our Strength. A few of the others include Cooking Matters and Community Wealth Partners.

Moreover, Share Our Strength looks to provide assistance for communities in need ranging from caregivers on limited budgets, to feeding needy children across the country, all the way to helping move along community businesses in need to positively affect social change. Thompson is trying to contribute to one of these causes in a big way since NIL is now in favor of the college athletes.
Star sophomore Texas running back Bijan Robinson is taking to a similar cause with a Cameo page he opened, with a booking price of $125. The minimum for the booking price that Thompson has on his Cameo page for No Kid Hungry is $100.
Moreover, it’s good to see all of these Longhorns players using the new NIL laws from the NCAA for the right causes.
Texas as a team is about to head into fall camp next month, and they are currently in the midst of summer workouts. New head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are also set to open up the 2021 regular season on Sep. 4 at home against Louisiana.
