In a time of the calendar year where Texas basketball recruiting is usually working at a rampant pace on the trail, July is going to be another busy month. This time it is just going to be under a different coaching staff than we had on the Forty Acres for the past six years. Former Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Chris Beard is taking the reigns for Shaka Smart as the next Texas head coach this year.

Back on April 1, Texas athletic director Chris del Conte was able to get Beard to be the next men’s hoops head coach to replace Smart. It was Smart that bolted from Austin back on March 26 to his home state of Wisconsin to be the next head coach of the Marquette Golden Eagles.

That was the start of what truly was a crazy offseason thus far for the Longhorns. A year full of coaching changes across the board for some of the more major athletic programs for the University of Texas has culminated in a lot of excitement about what’s to come, specifically for this basketball program.

Prospects of the 2022 Texas basketball recruiting class with stock on the rise

Texas had a successful month of June in terms of some of their bigger official visits on campus. The month of June did bring in the resumption of on-campus visits around the college hoops recruiting landscape, which was big for Beard to get that type of normalcy back.

But which prospects is Beard scouting out to establish a foundation for his 2022 class? Here’s a look into three prospects that Beard and the Longhorns are targeting for their 2022 class that have their stock rising in July.
