Keyonte George, SG

The one prospect that most Longhorns hoops fans would love to get as an initial commit in the 2022 class is the five-star iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy shooting guard Keyonte George. The 6-foot-4 and 185-pound Lewisville, TX, native is one prospect that really could at the perfect time for Beard and the Longhorns.

Texas needs to recruit the DFW-Metroplex well for this cycle if they want to have any hope at an elite 2022 class. That includes hitting on the likes of George and Black. Wright is very important, but letting someone like George take his talents out of state could be a big loss for Beard. And that would be the completely wrong foot for him to start his time on the recruiting trail off of with Texas.

Texas hosted an official visit with George last month, which looked like a hit at the time.

George is a perfect way for the Longhorns to potentially get up and running in terms of commitments in the 2022 class. Texas will have to fight off Kansas, Oklahoma State, the Kentucky Wildcats, and Baylor Bears, in the race to land George. But Texas does appear to have an inside track at the moment with the in-state product.

Texas is trying to get the elite scoring ability and two-way skill set of George in their 2022 class. The more film that shows up for George, the higher his star rises. His game is about as well-rounded as it comes in this recruiting cycle.
