 Josh Conerly Jr., OT

It looks like the west coast influence is here to say for Sark and the Longhorns on the recruiting trail in the midst of the summer months. And it could last for a while longer as long as there are so many coaches on Sark’s staff with west coast foundations. This is largely why Texas has placed so much priority on the recruitment of the five-star 6-foot-5 and 275-pound Rainier Beach offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr.

Texas has not had an offer out to Conerly for all that long up to this point. The scholarship offer from Texas to Conerly went out in mid-February. Texas was actually the second most recent school to send Conerly a scholarship offer.

But that was good enough at least up to now for Texas to stick around among Conerly’s top schools. Texas is in a pretty large group of top schools for Conerly at the moment, though. Some of the other top schools to watch for Conerly moving forward include the Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon, Alabama, Michigan, USC, and the Washington Huskies.

It is the last of those schools listed that is the one to watch it appears from here on out.

Both of the expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions in for Conerly at the moment favor Washington over the rest of the field. And the Rivals FutureCast has all of their analysts and publishers picking Conerly to land with Washington.

dark. Next. 3 commits Texas is likely to get in July

Texas would do well to land a commitment from Conerly, but it just doesn’t look too likely at this point in time. Washington looks to be getting a lead as a frontrunner for him. If a commitment announcement does come from Conerly by the end of this month, it’s hard to see him really intending to leave the west coast.
