The other former Alabama blue-chip recruit that the Longhorns added by way of the transfer portal so far this offseason is the 5-foot-9 and 190-pound redshirt sophomore running back Keilan Robinson. It was a bit unexpected that Sark and the Longhorns went out to get Keilan out of the transfer portal this offseason, but there’s no doubt about the impact he can make for Texas right away.

There’s not enough talk going on right now about how potent the ground game looks to be for Texas this fall. Texas clearly has the most potent backfield in the Big 12 at this point with a trio of standouts that are set to make their mark on the college football landscape this fall. This standout trio for Texas includes star sophomore Bijan Robinson, junior Roschon Johnson, and the new addition Robinson.

Robinson is likely to still fall in the pecking order behind Bijan and Roschon. But he could make some headway up this depth chart depending on how effective he is out of the gates this fall. He surely showed some flashes during his time playing for the Crimson Tide.

During the 2019 season, Keilan registered 254 rushing yards on 39 carries (6.5 yards per carry), good for two rushing touchdowns. He was a broken tackle machine that also had a good amount of breakaway speed that surprised some.

If Keilan can give the Longhorns somewhere in the ballpark of 50-60 rushing yards per game on at least five yards per carry without that many mishaps (fumbles, drops, missed blocks, etc.) his commitment out of the portal should be considered a success.
