The anticipation for what’s to come for new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program this fall is starting to really build up given that we’re less than 60 days away from the start of the 2021 regular season. Texas is set to kick off their regular season slate this fall on Sep. 4 at home against Louisiana.

Sark and the Longhorns will have some difficult non-conference tests and that come against the likes of a potential top 25 Group of Five preseason squad in Louisiana and a deeper Arkansas Razorbacks team on the road. And then Texas will have to face the likes of the TCU Horned Frogs and Iowa State Cyclones on the road in Big 12 play.

It also goes without saying that it will still be a challenge to take care of business against the likes of the rival Oklahoma Sooners in Dallas, Oklahoma State Cowboys at home, and Baylor Bears on the road. Texas could also have a sneaky difficult meeting with the West Virginia Mountaineers on the road.
