Texas Football: 3 critical 2022 prospects to impress in July
Jaray Bledsoe, DL
A 2022 target for the Longhorns that seems like he is really about to come to the forefront in the latter portion of the summer months of this offseason is the talented four-star Bremond (TX) defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe. Texas hosted what seemed to be a successful official visit with the 6-foot-4 and 270-pound Bledsoe last month.
Texas hosted Bledsoe for his official visit to Austin back on June 18. New defensive line coach Bo Davis and the Longhorns actually got the final official visit with Bledsoe last month before the dead period resumed.
But the other school that Bledsoe visited was the one that looks like it will be the biggest competitor to land the commitment of Bledsoe. He had an official visit with the Aggies back on June 4, and Texas A&M will be a real challenger.
Texas has the makings of a very solid class among defensive linemen. And landing a commitment from someone like Bledsoe would take this group to another level. With fellow four-star defensive lineman and Alabama native Justice Finkley likely giving his commitment to the Crimson Tide, getting it right with Bledsoe is crucial if Texas wants another defensive lineman in the 2022 class.
There is always the chance that another school could creep into the group of frontrunners for a blue-chip prospect like Bledsoe. But I am pretty confident that this one will boil down to just Texas and Texas A&M. Potentially getting one more visit (even unofficially) with Bledsoe by the fall could be critical to seal the deal here.
