Some additional roster changes arrived/were confirmed for new head coach Chris Beard and the Texas basketball program in the past few weeks. Since the last time we updated the projected depth chart for the Texas men’s hoops program heading into next season, some very impactful additions/shifts to the rotation have occurred in the midst of the summer months.

Beard and the Longhorns look like they are just a few steps away from being ready to begin the 2021-22 season. But there’s still a few months left before the 2021-22 regular season tips off for what will be a new look Longhorns team. Questions do still remain about how this rotation will look top-to-bottom.

The return of Courtney Ramey clears up the picture of the starting five for Texas basketball

The talent and particular skill sets on hand are much different for Beard as the Longhorns head coach compared to what he had during most years with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. That would lead many to believe that Beard is planning to run some hybrid scheme of what he did in Lubbock.

Beard built out a scheme at Texas Tech that was built with defense first, and then a multi-guard ball-handler system at the core of the offense. He will have more capable forwards/big men to work with on the Forty Acres, though.

We can still learn a bit of what Beard’s rotation will look like with the Longhorns from his schemes at Texas Tech. Early indications could start coming through as to what this rotation, specifically the starting unit, will look like with the official return of rising senior guard Courtney Ramey.

With the return of Ramey locked in ahead of next season, here’s a look into how the full rotation could play out for Beard and the Longhorns for the 2021-22 campaign.
