Gabarri Johnson, QB

One of the recruitments that really picked up of late around the college football recruiting landscape was with the talented and potent four-star Lincoln (WA) quarterback Gabarri Johnson. But the offer sheet really has yet to keep up with the pace of the attention that Johnson deserves to get on the recruiting trail in the summer months.

It’s likely only a matter of time before the offers really start pouring in for this 6-foot and 200-pound Washington native quarterback Johnson. As of the afternoon of July 17, there are only seven schools that have offered Johnson.

Some of the schools on Johnson’s offer sheet includes the Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers, Arizona State Sun Devils, Arkansas Razorbacks, Utah Utes, and Washington State Cougars.

This really seems like the right time for Sark and the Longhorns to jump in on the recruitment of Johnson, if they want to ever add him to their big board for the 2023 class.

Johnson is one of the more mobile quarterbacks in this 2023 class. He’s got excellent elusiveness to evade the pocket, and a big arm that continues to get more and more accurate on his throws beyond 10-15 yards.

Having a successful summer thus far in terms of recruiting combines/camps and 7-on-7 ball, Johnson is going to see his stock continue to rise in the coming months. He even excelled with one of the camps that the Big 12 foe TCU Horned Frogs held this summer.

If Texas were to send a scholarship offer Johnson’s way in the near future, he would be one of the highest-rated skill position prospects to get one from this school. He ranks as the nation’s No. 123 2023 high school prospect, No. 8 quarterback, and No. 2 prospect out of Washington (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 87 high school prospect, No. 7 quarterback, and No. 3 prospect out of Washington.

This would also be a good prospect for Sark and his new coaching staff to use the west coast connection for good on the recruiting trail.
