Among the most legendary college quarterbacks since the turn of the century is one that Sark coached up when he was on staff with Carroll and the Trojans in the early-to-mid 2000s. Former USC superstar quarterback Matt Leinart was coached up by Sark in two of his three years as a starter in LA.

Sark was lucky to get to see so much talent roll through when he was just a positional coach on staff with the Trojans in the early-to-mid 2000s. This 2005 USC offense featured key talents like superstar running back Reggie Bush, Leinart, powerful running back LenDale White, and standout wide receivers Dwayne Jarrett and Steve Smith.

Leinart and Bush powered this ultra-balanced offense that was among the most dominant in 2005. USC put up nearly 50 points per game in 2005, ranking second-best in the FBS.

Moreover, Leinart specifically was solid for the Trojans in 2003 and 2005, as he combined for more than 7,000 passing yards, nearly 70 passing touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. It’s hard to overstate how balanced but dominant this USC offense was with Leinart at the helm.

This was a spot where Sark really got to learn the ropes of what can make a balanced and effective offense at a school with top-tier talent that could win National Championships like USC. Hopefully, that will pay off with the Longhorns in the modern day.
