Some good news could be on the way for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class before the end of the month of July. New Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are set to host the likes of three-star Tenaha (TX) athlete Jeremy Patton for a visit in Austin one more time before his decision date arrives.

Patton is set for a July 31 decision date, which is one of the upcoming commitments to watch for Longhorns fans among targets of the 2022 class. That also means the decision of Patton is set to come one day after what could be his last visit as an uncommitted prospect with Texas.

End of July visit could get Jeremy Patton for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class

A report from Horns247 (paid content) last week indicated that Patton would be one of the unofficial visitors for Sark and the Longhorns on the final weekend of the month. Patton could be one of more than a dozen visitors on campus for the weekend BBQ in roughly 10 days at the end of July.

It is important to know that more of Patton’s family will be in attendance for this visit at the end of the month. Given the timing of that visit with more of his family and the decision date on July 31, this all seems to be lining up for something that will fall in the Longhorns’ favor.

The top three finalist schools for Patton are the Michigan Wolverines, Baylor Bears, and Texas. He visited Texas officially on June 4. That was his first of three official visits he would take in June, with the others coming the following two weekends with his other finalist schools.

Texas has new co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Jeff Choate as the primary recruiter pursuing Patton. This could be a nice addition to the 2022 class for Choate, which would also be a big win for him personally on the recruiting trail.

This is a very busy month on the recruiting trail for Sark and the Longhorns. Texas is now up to 15 commits in the 2022 class, with the latest coming from the four-star Denton-Ryan safety Austin Jordan back on July 14.
