Baylor

This is where the list really starts to separate itself. The Big 12 has two goliaths among the remaining eight schools in terms of the men’s hoops programs. In fact, these two remaining Big 12 hoops programs on the list are much better than what the conference gets on the hardwood out of Texas and Oklahoma.

Moreover, the first up here is the defending National Champions Baylor and head coach Scott Drew. Definitely, the strongest point of Baylor’s appeal as a whole is the men’s hoops program. Or you could really say the men’s and women’s basketball programs for the Bears makes this school one of the most appealing in the entire country.

Baylor is now a regular national contender in both men’s and women’s hoops. That’s hard to ignore if a conference is looking to expand this year with the idea of keeping a strong hoops brand.

There really aren’t any signs of Drew and the Bears slowing down on the hardwood. Baylor has become a regular among the top contenders in the Big 12 year in and year out.

Baylor has finished each of the last two seasons ranked in the top five in the final AP Poll. That now makes it eight seasons in the past decade where Baylor was ranked in the top 25 of the final AP Poll. Baylor is truly becoming a nationally relevant program on a regular basis that is able to compete with all of the traditional blue bloods.
