Texas Football: Predicting Week 1 offensive depth chart
Running Back
Starter: Bijan Robinson
The other position group that is at least worth discussing the two-deep in the midst of fall camp is at running back. The running back room on the Forty Acres might be one of the strongest and deepest of any across the college football landscape this year. That is largely thanks to the star power that sophomore Bijan Robinson brings to the table, but it’s not just him.
Texas has other starting-caliber running backs for Sark and Flood this fall that will help to form one of the most potent ground games and give the passing game more patience and room to breathe at the outset of the regular season.
There’s also key depth that Texas brings to the table in the backfield such as junior Roschon Johnson, redshirt sophomore Keilan Robinson, senior Daniel Young, former grad transfer and senior Gabriel Watkins, and freshman Jonathon Brooks. That’s a lot of depth to speak of.
Bijan really caught fire down the stretch last fall. In just the final two games of last season, Bijan registered more than 350 rushing yards on 19 carries (an insane 18.7 yards per carry), four rushing touchdowns, along with 88 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.
And there’s no doubt that he should be the set-in-stone starter in fall camp. If there was any starter that was borderline guaranteed on either side of the ball for Texas at this point, it should be Bijan.
