Texas Football: Bijan Robinson launching collab line with Centre
The change in the name, image, and likeness rules for college athletes competing in the NCAA this year is something that is already impacting various players within the Texas football program. That includes the former elite five-star recruit and star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson.
While Bijan is focused on a critical 2021 season ahead, which kicks off in roughly a week and a half, he is also taking advantage of the new NIL ruling. Bijan is reportedly (per 247Sports) launching an apparel collaboration line with the company Centre on Aug. 25.
This sportswear and general apparel line that Centre is releasing this week with Bijan is something that he will benefit from in terms of the sales. But he also reportedly played a role in the design of a lot of the apparel in this collaboration line.
Bijan is now one of quite a few big name skill position college football players that have signed a deal to collaborate with Centre, thanks to the new NIL rules. Some other big names in collaboration with Centre among college football players includes Auburn star running back Tank Bigsby and Texas A&M running back Isaiah Spiller.

Here’s more on what Centre founder Nick Sundstrom had to say on the matter of this collaboration with Bijan.
"“Bijan is the first one that we’ve really thrown like a ton of resources at it, and he’s such an amazing kid,” Sunderman said. “He had a lot of fun with our designers in the process and, you know, kind of took a lot of his favorite tour merchandise and stuff that he likes to wear and basically turn that into his own brand.”"
This line of apparel with Bijan is available solely online through Centre. It will reportedly be available in limited supply starting on Aug. 25. And he will apparently have the future ability to potentially get in with some apparel collaborations with Centre in the brick-and-mortar store.
Taking a step like this is huge both for Bijan and the Longhorns. This could open the door for numerous other big name Longhorns players, not just in football either, to take advantage of the new NIL rules in areas that they so choose.
Bijan and the Longhorns are set to open up the regular season slate on Sep. 4 at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium against the No. 23 ranked Louisiana Ragin-Cajuns. Texas is hoping to improve upon the 7-3 (5-3 Big 12) record from last season under Tom Herman, now under the direction of new head coach Steve Sarkisian.
