It feels like there is a sizable wave of momentum that will keep on coming for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class, spearheaded by new defensive line coach Bo Davis. Texas landed a solid commitment from a blue-chip that plays in the trenches already this week in the form of four-star Southaven (MS) defensive lineman Aaron Bryant.

And Davis and the Longhorns are already trending to land a commitment from another touted blue-chip defensive linemen heading into the weekend. The writing is on the wall that the Longhorns could soon add a commitment from the talented four-star Marlin (TX) defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe.

The two most recent expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions in for Bledsoe have his commitment trending to land with the Longhorns. And the Rivals FutureCast also has two of its analysts/publishers that have their projections for Bledsoe’s commitment going in favor of the Longhorns.

Texas football trending firmly up with 4-Star DL target Jaray Bledsoe

A report from Nick Harris of 247Sports (paid content) on Aug. 26 also indicates that a decision from Bledsoe for his commitment could be coming as soon as the next few days. There is starting to be more clarity at this point about where Bledsoe’s recruitment is trending.

Granted, the recruitment of Bledsoe did take a bit of a downturn recently when it was ruled that his transfer from Bremond High School to Marlin this year meant he could not compete in football this fall. He will not be playing high school football this fall.

Moreover, Texas looked to be headed in the right direction with Bledsoe following his official visit to Austin back in June. Although his most recent visit was an unofficial with the Texas A&M Aggies back on July 31, Texas still looks to command the direction of his recruitment of late.

Texas A&M and the Baylor Bears were the other top schools to watch in pursuit of the commitment of Bledsoe since visit season resumed back in June.

Texas A&M and Texas were the only two schools, though, that received visits from Bledsoe since June. Davis and the Longhorns look to have done enough in pursuit of Bledsoe to win over his interests compared to Texas A&M defensive tackles coach Elijah Robinson.

This 6-foot-4 and 270-pound in-state defensive lineman would be a huge get for the Longhorns 2022 class. If Texas landed a commitment from him soon, he would bring the number of blue-chips in the 2022 class up to a dozen.

Bledsoe ranks as the nation’s No. 123 2022 high school prospect, No. 21 defensive lineman, and No. 23 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).

Davis is starting to catch fire on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns 2022 class. He’s already helped Texas get three blue-chip commits along the defensive line in the 2022 class, and he could now be onto a fourth.
