It’s likely that the two most prioritized offensive line targets remaining for the Longhorns 2022 class will be the Bowie product Campbell and touted four-star St. John Bosco interior offensive lineman Earnest Greene. Campbell and Greene are also two of the highest-ranked remaining uncommitted offensive line targets that Texas has offered.

The main task at hand for the Longhorns in pursuit of the commitment of Greene will be moving past the Ohio State Buckeyes and offensive line coach Greg Studrawa. Ohio State looks to be the frontrunner at the moment for Green. But if there were to be a second place team named at the moment, you would have to think that would be Texas.

Getting Greene officially on the books for a visit during a big game weekend this fall will be critical for Texas in his recruitment. Ohio State already has a big-time official visit scheduled with him for Sep. 11, which is the weekend where the Buckeyes face the No. 11 ranked Oregon Ducks in Columbus.

Even the Georgia Bulldogs have Greene on the books for an official visit for Sep. 18. Texas needs to get moving in a hurry to get this visit scheduled with Greene.

A commitment decision might not be in the immediate future for Greene. But there are likely to be some early indications as to where he’s leaning with his decision following his official visits with Ohio State and Georgia next month.

This will be a real battle for Flood and the Longhorns to top Ohio State to win over Greene when it’s all said and done.
