Two of the ways that Sark can really use Card’s strengths to the max are with quick throws on out and stick routes and are corner routes rolling him out. Both of those routes are ones that redshirt sophomore wide receiver and speedster Jordan Whittington will be running as he starts on the outside this fall.

If Whittington is able to remain healthy throughout the fall for the first time in his three years on the Forty Acres to date, then he should be one of the top targets in the passing game for Card. The idea of what two players as talented as Card and Whittington could do this fall if both are healthy and effective is mind-boggling.

The speed and agility that Whittington brings to the table should make him effective in just about every common route that he will run in Sark’s offense. And with the natural arm talent that Card brings to the table, some of those deep and corner routes should be able to eat up yards in chunks for Whittington this fall.

The problem with Whittington in the past two seasons was just him staying healthy. Over the course of the past two years, Whittington was only able to play at least two games in a row on one occasion. He was at least healthy for the Longhorns in the last three games of last season. And he registered more than 131 total yards, one touchdown, and more than 10 yards per touch in the last three games of last season.

Hopefully, that will be a sign of things to come for Whittington in combination with Card this fall.
