Bijan Robinson can gash a Louisiana front seven prone to giving up yards in chunks

Two of the weaker points of the Louisiana defense are the defensive line and the lack of size among the linebackers. This looks like a group of Cajuns in the front seven that is bound to get gashed by star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson. You couldn’t hope for much better than what Texas has in Bijan this weekend against a proven defense with the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Texas is bringing back one of the most loaded backfields in the entire country, led by the insanely talented Bijan. What Sark and the Longhorns also have to work with out of the backfield includes junior Roschon Johnson, incoming freshman Jonathon Brooks, senior Daniel Young, and former Alabama Crimson Tide sophomore transfer Keilan Robinson.

The Longhorns will have the ability to use Bijan from the get go to get rolling on offense against this experienced Louisiana defense. And considering the strength of the Louisiana defense is in the secondary, beating them early via the ground game could open things up later on for Card.

In all but three games last season, Louisiana gave up at least four yards per carry. And Iowa State Cyclones star running back Breece Hall was able to go off for more than 110 rushing yards, one rushing score, and roughly 4.5 yards per carry, last fall against the Cajuns. That all came despite Iowa State’s tough season-opening loss to the Cajuns.

Texas also will bring a deeper backfield to the table than Louisiana saw last season in Iowa State. There’s a lot that Sark can do with all of the running back talent on hand. Bijan can just gain yards in chunks this weekend. Roschon is extremely versatile and can make an impact as a blocker, rusher, or receiver.

And the writing is on the wall that Sark will try to scheme open Keilan in the passing game to allow the elusive former Crimson Tide blue-chip recruit to get in the open field and work his magic.
