A big matchup for No. 15 ranked Texas football and new head coach Steve Sarkisian lies ahead on the night of Sep. 11 against the Arkansas Razorbacks and head coach Sam Pittman. This is the first road game of the regular season slate for Texas following a big win over the No. 23 ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and head coach Billy Napier at home last weekend.

Throughout most of the week, Sark and the Longhorns were roughly a one-touchdown favorite in the spread over Arkansas. But the spread has yet to really give the Longhorns a major edge in this road meeting with the longtime rival Razorbacks, and with good reason.

With the fans returning to a sold-out and likely very noisy Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville on this day, it will be a very difficult atmosphere for the likes of sophomore starting quarterback Hudson Card to deal with. This is only the second start for Card in his college career. And he hasn’t played in an atmosphere close to how rowdy Razorback Stadium will be this weekend.

Updated betting odds for Steve Sarkisian and No. 15 Texas football ahead of kickoff vs. Arkansas

Granted, Texas is likely to still have a good bit of confidence and momentum heading into this meeting with Arkansas. Sark and the Longhorns came up with a big win over Louisiana by a comfortable 20-point margin in Week 1. That’s something to hang their hat on heading into Week 2.

The betting odds, thanks to WynnBet, this weekend do reflect what will likely be a close game in primetime between Texas and Arkansas. Just a few hours ahead of kickoff between these two teams, Texas is a 6.5-point favorite in the spread over Arkansas.

And the over/under is currently set at 56.5-points in the mid-afternoon of Sep. 11.

In Sark’s return to facing an SEC opponent, Arkansas is going to pose another difficult task for this young and talented Longhorns team. Sark had plenty of success against Arkansas in the last two seasons as the Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator.

But this is a different situation that Sark will find himself in this weekend. Texas has a lot riding on this game with a potential top 10 or 12 ranking in both major polls if this team comes up with a win on the night of Sep. 11.
