New Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian is getting his team prepared for a big matchup this weekend to open up Big 12 play, against head coach Matt Wells and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Texas is coming into this game hoping to extend its winning streak to two games. The winning streak started last weekend at home thanks to a dominant 58-0 win over the Rice Owls.

If Sark and the Longhorns can knock off Texas Tech at home in the Big 12 opener this weekend, it would go a long way to help Texas fans put the humbling road loss back on Sep. 11 to the Arkansas Razorbacks behind them. Texas was pushed around and defeated in convincing fashion in front of a national primetime television audience against Arkansas.
