This weekend has become a big-time marker for both the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes. What looked to be a pretty usual visitor weekend, especially for the 2022 class, has quickly ballooned into one of paramount importance for new head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff.

Sark and the Longhorns are now set to host a double-digit number of high school prospects that matter, ranging from the 2022 all the way up to the 2026 class. Granted, most of the focus will fall on the 2022 and 2023 classes that have visiting prospects this weekend for the Big 12 opener.

On the late morning of Sep. 25, the Longhorns are set to kick off their Big 12 slate against head coach Matt Wells and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. If Texas can show out on the field at DKR this weekend in front of an electric atmosphere in Austin, it will go a long way to impressing a number of key prospects on the recruiting trail.
