RB commit says Texas football has ‘best coaches in the country’
There was really nothing but positive reactions that came down from key targets/commits of the 2022 and 2023 Texas football recruiting classes, among other cycles, coming out of the Big 12-opening win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders this weekend. New head coach Steve Sarkisian and his squad got a big five-possession win at home on Sep. 25 over head coach Matt Wells and the Big 12 in-state foe Texas Tech.
This is something that should have positive reverberations on the recruiting trail for Sark and the Longhorns in the weeks ahead. Especially if Texas can capitalize on this momentum throughout the rest of the Big 12 slate, the success on the recruiting trail should see an uptick ahead of the Early Signing Period in a few months.
One of the more active Texas commits in the 2022 class during the big 70-35 win over Texas Tech on Sep. 25 was the touted four-star Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue. The in-state product and blue-chip Longhorns commit was active both on social media during this meeting with Texas Tech, and with the media following the win.

It seems like what the backfield did for the Longhorns this weekend made a very positive impact on the image that Blue has about his future on the Forty Acres. The same could be true for other top prospects of the next few Longhorns recruiting classes at multiple position groups that looked good in the last two weeks.
It was also promising to hear what Blue had to say about the Texas coaching staff following this win over Texas Tech. He reportedly (per Horns247, paid content) stated that Texas has the “best coaches in the country” and that “Texas is the best school to be at”.
There were a lot of encouraging reactions that came from top Texas targets and commits over the weekend. Not many were better than Blue’s, though.
Maybe this can be a rallying point for the Longhorns 2022 class as Blue seems to be very ecstatic about his future in Austin. If other top prospects that the Longhorns 2022 and 2023 classes are seeking out can use the energy put out by commits like Blue, it could lead to more future success on the trail for Sark and his staff.
Texas had a plethora of big-time prospects visiting for the Texas Tech game this weekend for the Longhorns. Some of the top names that likely came away impressed from this win over Tech that were visiting this weekend include five-star linebacker Harold Perkins and five-star cornerback Denver Harris.
