Bijan Robinson can make life difficult for some TCU defenders missing a lot of tackles

One problem that absolutely plagued the TCU defense last weekend in their loss to SMU was all of the missed tackles. TCU registered a season-high 20 missed tackles in that loss to SMU. And two of the biggest culprits in terms of missed tackles for the Horned Frogs last weekend were former graduate transfer safety T.J. Carter and senior safety La’Kendrick Van Zandt.

Carter and Van Zandt combined for a whopping seven missed tackles just last weekend against TCU. Now, a lot of those missed tackles between those two safeties against SMU came in pass coverage.

But this still gives a huge opportunity for Sark and the Longhorns to exploit potentially the most glaring weakness of this TCU team on either side of the ball. Texas has the perfect weapon to make the most of this chance against a TCU defense that has a lot of missed tackles with star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson.

Few running backs get to the second and third level of defenses better than Bijan. And Bijan ranks among the top three FBS running backs in the entire country in terms of missed tackles forced on rushing plays. He has more than 35 missed tackles forced through only four games, and that’s only on running plays. Bijan also has just shy of 140 yards after the catch and five missed tackles forced as a receiver this fall.

All of the missed tackles that Horned Frogs defenders like Van Zandt and Carter came up with last weekend, and throughout parts of the two games prior, should really open the door for Bijan to find success this weekend.
