Texas Football: 3 reasons the Longhorns will dominate TCU
A critical game on the conference slate awaits for the Texas football program and new head coach Steve Sarkisian on the morning of Oct. 2 against head coach Gary Patterson and the ultra-stingy TCU Horned Frogs. Texas just really couldn’t shake the TCU monkey off their back in more than the last half-decade.
In the recent series between these two teams, the Horned Frogs have really dominated the Longhorns. TCU won six of the last seven meetings against Texas. Last year’s meeting between these two teams could’ve gone either way. But it looked like Texas should’ve locked that game down if not for a late-game Keaontay Ingram fumble on the goalline.

Now, Texas is looking to move on from the difficulties against the Horned Frogs under both former head coaches Charlie Strong and Tom Herman. Texas got really close to winning two of the last three over TCU. The days of TCU destroying Texas do look to be behind us (knock on wood).
Texas enters this game as just a four-point favorite less than 24 hours from kickoff. But the over/under is still stuck around 65 points. Vegas is thinking that this game is closer as the week moved along. Yet, Texas is still the favorite on the road against a team that they haven’t beaten on the road since 2013 when Mack Brown was still the head coach.
Finally getting this monkey off of Texas’ back would be a great feeling for this fan base heading into the week of the Red River Rivalry game against the Oklahoma Sooners. With that in mind, here’s a look at three reasons why the Longhorns could convincingly defeat TCU this weekend.
